Mary S. Johnson

Ms. Johnson is active in the defense of complex environmental, toxic tort, chemical exposure, carbon monoxide, insurance coverage, medical monitoring, naturally occurring radioactive material ("NORM") occupational injury cases, oyster, oil spill, pesticide, personal injury, property damage, and class action litigation. She also has an active mediation and appellate practice in the same areas. Ms. Johnson has particular abilities in defending premises owners, employers and their executive officers in occupational exposure and related medical monitoring litigation throughout Louisiana. She is defending a number of cases alleging damage to coastal marshes, wetlands, oyster leases, property and global warming claims relating to Hurricane Katrina. She also has substantial experience in multi-party and class action lawsuits, and has handled a number of consolidated NORM, asbestos, pesticide, silica and chemical exposure cases.

Mr. Gray has been practicing in the areas of commercial and oil and gas litigation since 1978.


His vast energy law and litigation experience includes defense of legacy lawsuits, environmental contamination matters, contract and property disputes, and drilling contract lawsuits.


Mr. Gray has handled matters involving Office of Conservation unitization orders, various royalty and lease disputes, oil and gas liens, and mineral royalty disputes. His background also includes oil and gas marketing disputes, oil and gas regulatory litigation and related administrative proceedings.


In complex commercial litigation matters, Mr. Gray has represented clients in their corporate and director and officer malpractice and environmental liability actions. He has also written about, and handled, joint operating agreement litigation.

Since he began practicing in 1979, Mr. McNamara has handled a wide range of civil litigation in venues throughout Louisiana. Concentrating on energy litigation and dispute resolution, he is experienced in the defense of major class action suits, including serving as lead counsel for the defense in the Combustion, Inc. class action in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
