2020 Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup is a biennial men’s golf competition between teams from Europe and The United States. Spanning 91 years and 42 competitions, the Ryder Cup is among the last great professional sporting events where winning, and not prize money, is the reward. In 2021, LEO Events produced the 43rd Ryder Cup Opening Ceremony – the first LEO production broadcast on live television to a global audience.

As one of the world’s most anticipated live sporting events, the 2020 Ryder Cup Opening Ceremony needed to offer a perfect balance of spectacle and sport. LEO Events was challenged with producing an unforgettable Opening Ceremony and Pre-Show that was true to Ryder Cup principles: Tension. Drama. Sportsmanship. Teamwork.

To deliver the size, scale, and hype required for such an event, the LEO team built and branded a massive main stage, designed with style and functionality in mind. To lead the excitement, Rob Riggle and Nischelle Turner hosted the ceremony. Joining them were other well-known personalities like Melanie Ricks, DJ Shawna, and other PGA athletes. After announcing the highly anticipated matches, the ceremony closed with a dramatic flyover performance over the rolling fairways.
